Security Officer D License

Security Officer D License is an online 4 day 40 hours course done in two consecutive weekends. See Home page for schedule. Day class.

Evening classes are offered four times during the year. January/April/July/September

Note: Students must be highly dedicated and responsible for the instruction of this class. This course requires the successful passing of a 170 questions exam with a 75% final score. If you must retake the exam there is a $50.00 retake fee.

Security License D is a Florida unarmed course 

Security officer D license course is offered in southeast Florida by Florida Security Licensing & Firearms Defensive Training, and in central Florida by Florida Security License & Defensive Training. Class “D” Security Officer License Requirements

Any individual who performs the services of a security officer must have a Class “D” license.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a license, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a citizen or legal resident alien of the United States or have been granted authority to work in this country by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Training/Experience

You must submit proof of successful completion of a minimum of 40 hours of professional training provided by a security officer school or training facility licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Exceptions:

  1. If you are a currently employed law enforcement officer, correctional officer, or correctional probation officer certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, a copy of your valid ID card issued by your employing law enforcement agency is sufficient to satisfy the training requirement.
  2. If you have successfully completed a training program approved by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission for certification as a law enforcement officer, correctional officer, or correctional probation officer, a copy of your certificate of completion is sufficient to satisfy the training requirement.
  3. If you qualify for a Class “DI” security officer instructor license under Rule 5N-1.138(1)(e)-(g), Florida Administrative Code, proof of such qualification is sufficient to satisfy the training requirement.
  4. If you received relevant military training or education during service in the United States Armed Forces, proof of such training or education is sufficient to satisfy the training requirement.
This State of Florida 42 hours course meets the State Curriculum and Certification required to obtain the Security Officer Unarmed D License. This course is provided by a Security Officer Training Facility licensed by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The instructor holds a DI license to teach and certify you once you complete the required curriculum and upon successful completion of the course testing.
Our package consists of the following: 40 hours of coursework, exam review, and 2 hours of exam. 

Class “D” Security Officer License Requirements

 

Any individual who performs the services of a security officer must have a Class “D” license.

Security Officer Unarmed D License State of Florida Department of Agriculture Division of Licensing course consists of 40 hours of course work and 2 hours for your 170 questions exam. This course is proctored and the student must be present in class on the platform utilized with a live feed showing yourself during the entire class. You must conduct yourself as if you were present in the in person class. The classroom setting requires that you are sitting in front of your camera with audio during the entire class.
