The G License 4 hours course meets the State of Florida curriculum and certification required to maintain the Security Officer Armed G License. This course covers your annual mandatory re-qualification as required by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Licensing. The training must be done every year during your two years valid G license.
The K license instructor will meet with the student at the classroom and range for the purpose of reviewing use of force statutes and changes that can possibly affect your Security Officer license and to shoot the qualification course. Upon completion of the required curriculum and testing, you will be certified and your training will be reported to the Division of Licensing via the Licensing Information and Alert System. The reporting will take place within three business days (excluding weekends and holidays).
Note: Only Class “C,” Class “CC,” Class “D,” Class “M,” Class “MA” and Class “MB” licensees are permitted to bear a firearm, and any such licensee who bears a firearm must also have a Class “G” license.
If you received a letter from the Division of Licensing stating that you missed your 4 hours of mandatory training during any part of the two years G license; your license is under review (suspended). You must take a 28 hours of the G license class for reinstatement of your license. Please look under courses for the Recertification 28 hours (3 days class). The recertification class is done together with the regular Armed Security Officer 28 hours class.
